SHOW YOUR OTHERSIDE

Szerintetek mi a tuti recept a sikerhez egy mai magyar kezdő underground zenekarnak, mibe érdemes belevágni először: videoklip, EP vagy album, esetleg e helyett csak koncertek először és média-jelenlét, stb? Ti hogyan csináltátok? [What do you think about the ultimate way to success for a newcomer Hungarian underground band; what should be the first thing: a music video, EP or album, possibly instead of them only concerts and media presence, etc. for the first time? How you guys do it?]

[First of all, a lot of practice and time needed to be tarred with the same brush. In the beginning we recorded a three-track EP then we started to play gigs to get to know our audience something from the repertoire. We were playing for the first 1-1.5 years in Kecskemét, our hometown. After released our newest EP (Heartbeats), we felt that with the new songs we can try to „conquer” the national audience. At the same time came the interviews, album review. In the beginning you should not think in big things, a whole album is excess because of immaturity, but a music video can be a good ad, you can reach many places with it across the web.]

[We're also a social networking site. What do you think about the role of these sites and the power of „likes”? Can be a band's success, popularity and quality of the music measured only with the number of „likes”? What social media sites do you use actively and why those pages?]

Fesztiválszervezéseknél viszont számít a rajongók száma.
This Time EasyCore folyamatosan hírt ad rólunk.

[The Internet is one of the largest medium beside television and radio (if not the largest), these sites have a powerful role in the marketing and advancement of musicians / bands. The number of „likes” is serious to a certain extent, on some level it shows the quality of the band and this is a kind of feedback. But not always because people do not always press the like button just because of the song, but it is also due to the members, acquaintances, family members, friends, girlfriend.
In case of festivals the number of fans is important.
Nowadays, almost every band can be found in the social web. The Facebook is what every band uses, we think, we have also YouTube, SoundCloud, Beat100 profiles, and an Indonesian Portal „This Time EasyCore” shows news about us.]

Mi az a dolog, amit most a saját bandátokkal kapcsolatosan legszívesebben a világba kiáltanátok, vagy legalábbis minél több embernek elmondanátok? [What things would you like to shout out now about your band]

Most készül az első videoklipünk, ami a következő hónapok valamelyikében fog megjelenni.

[We are working on our first music video, which will be released in the next few months. We are planning a spring tour; we are organizing the stations and co-bands continuosly. We try to get as many places as we can. And the most important for us that we’ve started working on the first LP, we are writing songs, practicing a lot in order to be able to show our best.]

SCREAM OF THE TEMPLE

Szerintetek mi a tuti recept a sikerhez egy mai magyar kezdő underground zenekarnak, mibe érdemes belevágni először: videoklip, EP vagy album, esetleg e helyett csak koncertek először és média-jelenlét, stb? Ti hogyan csináltátok? [What do you think about the ultimate way to success for a newcomer Hungarian underground band; what should be the first thing: a music video, EP or album, possibly instead of them only concerts and media presence, etc. for the first time? How you guys do it?]

[If we could know that, I think we would be all rich. Joking aside: the most important is to catch/ organize as many concert opportunities, and then with enough routine and vocation it is worthy to start with serious recording, because the real direction of the band can be outlined only after a certain period of time. The earliest recorded sound quality must be in the "listenable" and "affordable" category. And it is enough to record a few songs, such as taste, DEMO, in order to build up the concertgoer audience. LIVE music must be always the first, not the studio. The EP, LP, music video, media should be a second (or later) steps when you can undertake serious financial effort, and can calculate with album-selling, but without a stabile fan-base it is a lottery. In fact, the return is never certain, but we personally think that return is not the first, we love to do those things which appeal others to gigs.]

[We're also a social networking site. What do you think about the role of these sites and the power of „likes”? Can be a band's success, popularity and quality of the music measured only with the number of „likes”? What social media sites do you use actively and why those pages?]

[The role of social media is indisputable, and the possibilities are endless. The online medium is the simplest solution for mutual communication between bands and fans, and for event notifications.
The "success" is relative term, rather it is worth investigating what the "goal" is. An underground band should not aim to collect the more clicks in that virtual scene, but it is all about that in real life what they can achieve. „LIKE” is a simple feedback, and still shows no real content. We like using Facebook because as many others, but for example YouTube and SoundCloud can be very useful for video / music sharing as well.]

Mi az a dolog, amit most a saját bandátokkal kapcsolatosan legszívesebben a világba kiáltanátok, vagy legalábbis minél több embernek elmondanátok? [What things would you like to shout out now about your band]

[To quote one of our lyrics: "I am always swimming up the stream, but I do not give up, I do not break"]

MARAUDERS

Szerintetek mi a tuti recept a sikerhez egy mai magyar kezdő underground zenekarnak, mibe érdemes belevágni először: videoklip, EP vagy album, esetleg e helyett csak koncertek először és média-jelenlét, stb? Ti hogyan csináltátok? [What do you think about the ultimate way to success for a newcomer Hungarian underground band; what should be the first thing: a music video, EP or album, possibly instead of them only concerts and media presence, etc. for the first time? How you guys do it?]

[It seems from the question that we are successful (haha) but still have a very long way to go.
We would rather focus on: no matter what you start first, the main point is to have a professional stuff. As a beginner you must build acquaintance in the music scene. Primarily the "fan base" has to be built, in order to more and more people can reach the audio and video materials. And this is really terrific that Mommy and Daddy listening to our music (because it is roaring on max volume through the open door from the room), but it is not enough to overcome the familiar level.]

Can be a band's success, popularity and quality of the music measured only with the number of „likes”? What social media sites do you use actively and why those pages?]

[Despite all the rumors „likes” have very big role, but only as a tool. As we post something we appear on others’ news feed. This is perhaps the quickest and most efficient form of generating views.
No, not an absolute measure of quality, but it can be used as a guide to see popularity.
So far we were myVIP-addicts, but after your mail we all registered to Facebook in order to  like your page, this interview and after all ourselves.]

Mi az a dolog, amit most a saját bandátokkal kapcsolatosan legszívesebben a világba Mi az a dolog, amit most a saját bandátokkal kapcsolatosan legszívesebben a világba kiáltanátok, vagy legalábbis minél több embernek elmondanátok? [What things would you like to shout out now about your band]

[How could we shout out it into the world? …our band name ... cos unfortunately we still can not pronounce it properly. Anyway, the lyric video for the song "Confrontation" is currently in progress, we will have gigs in Kecskemet, 23 February, (at TEKA) and 9 March in Budapest (at Tündérgyár), we hope that as many people will see us.]

Bemutatkozik a FlatBand

FLATBAND
Solymár Mátyás: Ének + Bass
Fehér Holló: Szólógitár + Vokál
Wittinger Bálint: Ritmusgitár + Vokál + Sampler
Kerekes Tibor: Dob

A CMFH első kis lemezbemutató cikkét olvashatjátok, melyben a FlatBand nevű formáció kislemezébe hallgathatunk bele. Őszintén szólva mi még nem hallottunk korábban a bandáról, ezért is dobtuk be kíváncsian a napokban megjelent NMY nevet viselő EP-t a lejátszóba.

A zenekart négy fiatal srác alkotja, ennek ellenére már 2009 óta tevékenykednek, hiszen ez a csapat is az iskola falai közül indult zenei útjára. A zenei stílusuk saját meghatározásuk szerint: Electrocore/Trancecore/Post Hardcore/Changecore. Ha ez nem zavar össze azonnal, akkor vess egy pillantást kedvenc zenekaraikra, úgy mint: Enter Shikari, Architects, Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember, Rage Against the Machine, Rise Against, System of a Down, ami aztán véglegesen kíváncsivá tehet, hogy milyen is a srácok tényleges zenei stílusa.

A banda viszont elég aktívnak tűnik, keményen koncerteznek, szóval érdemes élőben is megnézni, mit tudnak.
